Bringing the Roof Down!

My alarm distrubed my sleep yesterday morning and whilst still in the throws over waking up properly I head a slight bang

I assumed it was something falling off the bed in the spare room and was concerned for a few minutes that one of the shelves in my bookcase had fallen but concentrating on hitting the snooze button took over until I strolled into my kitchen and was met with this

I rushed to the flat upstairs who unhelpfully just informed me that her washing machine had flooded and seemed uninterested in the damage this had caused me

Thankfully my dad rushed to my aid and set up cleaning up my kitchen. I cannot tell you how messy it had got and even returning home from work last night I'd spot a missed corner covered in paper maiche like spotting!

Good grief. You should insist that the unhelpful woman upstairs pays for the repairs to the ceiling - altho I spose you can get your landlord to chase her for this. Hope nothing precious got broken. x

oh my god, I'm coming round. This woman needs a cold slap. Thoughtless bat.

Hope the landlord can sort it - and miss nasty upstairs - quickly.

Poor you!

On the plus side, Summer is over. I'm happy! bet you are too!

Never a good way to wake up in the middle of the night. This has happened to us twice in the last couple of years when the roof collapsed into our hall and then the kitchen. It took weeks before being back to normal, hope it will be quicker for you!

OMG! You should send the upstairs neighbor that photo with a repair bill!

Such a shame when you have worked so hard to get the flat so lovely...
Hope all is well and that 'er upstairs doesn't cause any more upset...

The exact same thing happened to the BFs kitchen ceiling when he moved in, and it was funnily enough the woman upstairs bath!! Definately get the landlord involved, you shouldn't be paying for any repairs.
Luckily none of your lovely things got damaged.
Hope it gets sorted out asap xxx
P.S your kitchen is still gorgeous!

I would of thought that the lady above should be the one to pay for repairs, what a pain in the bottom! x

Nightmare. I had a friend who was sitting in the living room once and a whole load of the ceiling fell down around her. Think that would have traumatised me forever. Hope your unhelpful neighbour gets the place fixed soon and you are soon back to normal.
